Who We Are

The Brain Injury Association of Hawaiʻi (BIHI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by brain injury through education, advocacy, support, prevention, and community collaboration. Since 1987, BIHI has worked to raise awareness, connect individuals and families with valuable resources, and promote understanding of brain injury throughout Hawaiʻi.

What We Do

BIHI serves survivors, family members, caregivers, healthcare professionals, educators, employers, and community partners by:

• Providing education and awareness

• Connecting individuals with resources and support

• Hosting educational conferences and community events

• Facilitating support groups

• Promoting brain injury prevention

• Advocating for individuals affected by brain injury

Our Story

Founded in 1987, the Brain Injury Association of Hawaiʻi was established by survivors, families, and advocates who recognized the need for greater awareness and support for people living with brain injury. Today, BIHI continues that mission by serving communities throughout Hawaiʻi through education, advocacy, outreach, and collaboration.

Affiliation

The Brain Injury Association of Hawaiʻi is proud to serve as Hawaiʻi's affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America, working together to advance brain injury awareness, education, and advocacy nationwide.
